WGC Foundation volunteers headed to Redhill Memorial Park for the Lucy Rayner Foundation’s very first Food & Wellbeing Community Day, Feed Your Soul, and came back with full hearts. The event, held to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, was everything a community day should be: warm, joyful, and full of the kind of human connection that no screen can replicate.
More Than a Day Out
The park was alive. Food stalls, wellbeing activities, laughter, conversations with strangers who quickly felt like neighbours. Families wandered through together, trying new things, slowing down, genuinely nourishing themselves in ways that go far beyond what’s on a plate.
For our volunteers, it wasn’t just a day of giving. It was a day of receiving, too. Sharon brought her daughter along, and watching the two of them share that experience, side by side, part of something bigger than themselves, was one of those quiet moments that stays with you.
There are some days that remind you why this work matters. Last Saturday was one of them.

Showing Up for What Matters
We talked to people. We played games. We raised money. But more than anything, we showed up, for the Lucy Rayner Foundation, for the community, and for the simple but powerful belief that mental health deserves to be celebrated, not just spoken about behind closed doors.
Every Moment Counts
Every pound raised that day moves the Lucy Rayner Foundation closer to bringing their mission to more people across the UK. And every smile, every conversation, every family that left feeling a little lighter, that’s the real measure of a day well spent.
